Colours and shapes certainly affect the mind and body. Some colours make us feel cool. Others evoke heat. Some shapes calm us down and convey a sense of security and stability. Others cheer us up and surprise us. In hospitals and care facilities, it is extra important to think about how the interior design affects the human being. Hospital green may not always be the most appropriate wall colour. And maybe there is furniture that is both practical and nice-looking. Do we want rubber cloth, elevated seat height, removable coverings? The questions are many and they are necessary for the end result to be a comfortable and sustainable environment.
Working with interior design in hospitals, homes for the elderly and other healthcare facilities for many years, we have noted that interior design is not a luxury - working with design is a possibility to create healing environments for all.
